Don't get scammed

Don't send monies to any advertiser until you have received reasonable proof of legitimacy.

What constitutes "Proof of Legitimacy"? You must be the judge but here are some ideas.
  • A web site address.
  • A business address.
  • A phone number.
  • A local reference.
  • A registered breeder.
  • Recognized Kennel club member
  • Recognized breeder association member.
Sending monies via Western Union is not recommended as it is often used by scammers, especially if the seller is located in another country. Sending monies using the vendor's 'PayPal' or other recognized credit card processing system is a better choice. Try meeting your advertiser and exchange cash for goods purchased if possible.

Buying a puppy or a dog (or any pet) without proof of all the usual vaccinations have been given and are up-to-date and without proof of a recent 'vet check' in writing to ascertain that the animal is healthy, is not recommended. Puppies offered for pickup or delivery before they are weaned and at least seven and one half or eight weeks of age are not being offered by responsible breeders.
